Parkinson’s Circuit Class

The Parkinson’s Circuit Class is a moderate intensity exercise class for people who have Parkinson’s Disease.

We are proud to offer this class, supported by East Lancs Clinical Commissioning Group.

The Parkinson’s Circuit Class is designed to help counteract the postural effects of Parkinson’s, and help you manage your condition better. We focus on challenging you physically and cognitively.

We start the class with a Parkinson’s-specific warm-up. Then we work through a series of standing exercises with small equipment, aiming to improve posture, endurance and overall fitness. The class focuses on specific coordination exercises to help improve cognitive function and challenge balance. At the end, a gentle cool-down and stretch leave you feeling looser and more mobile.

Our experienced staff are aware of the on and off periods of Parkinson’s. We are able to adjust the session accordingly to fit with your needs.

We are mindful that movement is just one aspect of Parkinson’s, so each class includes 10 minutes for specific questions. As we work closely with NHS East Lancs Parkinson’s nurses and Parkinson’s UK, we can advise when it is appropriate to contact them.

If you find you have more questions that you would like to discuss confidentially, we offer a one to one with our Holistic Health Practitioner who has 20 years of experience working in the health field and is a qualified counsellor.

This is a 2 butterfly class, so it’s at a moderate intensity level.
