Loss

Loss is a huge change for any person to go through and comes in many forms. Bereavement is the greatest loss, but other losses can have as much of an impact on a person, e.g. relationship breakdown, loss of work or losing independence. Whatever the nature of the loss, a huge change has taken place and it can feel too much to bear.

Counselling can offer a space to explore the impact of this loss, to be honest and open about its meaning to the person, and to start to come to terms with something that may be challenging the person’s sense of identity or stability. Beginning to acknowledge and process some of the complex and difficult emotions associated with loss can be the start of healing from the pain that this has caused.
